Join us for Paws on the Run, our 24th Annual 5K Race & 1-Mile Dog Walk, on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the Town Park behind Sanford Creek Elementary School in Rolesville!
We're inviting our community to lace up, bring their pups, and help make a difference for homeless cats and dogs throughout our region. Your support of this signature event directly fuels our lifesaving mission and helps ensure that more animals get the second chances they deserve.
Since 2002, Paws for Life NC has been dedicated to rescuing vulnerable animals from local high-intake shelters and providing the care they need to thrive. From emergency medical treatment, surgeries, vaccinations, spay/neuter services, and microchipping to nutritious food, safe foster homes, and plenty of love, we give every animal the opportunity for a brighter future.
With your support, we can make 2026 our most impactful year yet—saving more lives, helping more families, and creating more happy endings for cats and dogs in our community.

Entry Fee
The entry fee for the 5K is $30, and the fee for 1-Mile Dog Walk is $20. After September 30, both fees increase by $5 up to and including race day.
Packet Pick-up
Packet pickup is at a the registration tent starting at 8:30 AM on the morning of the event. All participants must show a photo ID or be with a guardian with a photo ID in order to pick up their race packets and can only pick up their own race packet.
Race Swag
All participants will receive a race t-shirt
Dog Costume Parade
Following the 5K there will be a dog costume parade! 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards will be given to the best dressed dog/s.
